Established in 2004, Blue Air is a low-cost, Romanian airline. The company was the 1st Romanian airline company to be launched with 100% private equity and was founded with an aim to providing safe, comfortable and affordable flight alternatives for its customers. As of 2015, Blue Air boasted a fleet of 15 aircrafts made up of Boeing 737-300, 737-400, 737-500, 737-700 and 737-800 series, with capacities between 126 and 189 seats. With its main headquarters in Bucharest, Blue Air operates over 40 scheduled destinations across Europe, including major airports in Belgium, Cyprus, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Spain, and the United Kingdom.. Additional charter operations are available for various Mediterranean destinations. In 2014, Blue Air carried 1.5 million passengers, an increase of close to 250,000 compared to the previous year.

Online check-in

• Online check-in is available up to 30 days before the flight date and up to 4 hours before take-off. Blue Air offers online check-in on many of their routes.
• Passengers checking-in online are required to print off their boarding card before arriving at the airport.
• Online check-in is not available for flights departing from Bologna, Constanta, Dublin, Florence, Naples, Stuttgart, or flights to and from the United Kingdom. For these flights, check-in must be completed at the respective airports before departure and is free of charge.
• Online check-in is not mandatory and airport check-in is free of charge on all routes.

Cabin luggage allowance

• There is a cabin luggage allowance for 1 piece of cabin luggage with dimensions no greater than 55cm x 40cm x 20cm.
• Cabin luggage can weigh no more than 10kg per passenger.
• Each passenger is entitled to 1 piece of cabin luggage. Purses and electronic devices must be placed in with this baggage and only products purchased in the airport from Duty Free shops can be transported separately from the carry-on baggage.

Checked baggage allowance

• Each passenger flying with Blue Air is entitled to a checked baggage allowance of 4 pieces of baggage each with maximum dimensions of 100cm x 80cm x 30cm.
• The maximum allowed weight for the checked in baggage is 32kg per piece. This cannot be dispersed between 2 or more passengers.
• Each passenger is allowed up to 4 pieces of checked in baggage.
• For children up to 2 years old, checked in baggage up to 32kg is allowed free of charge. If a stroller of 1 or more pieces is brought for the infant, it will be considered checked in baggage and will be charged according to the conditions of check-in baggage for adults.
• Bicycles and other items of sports equipment with a weight up to 32kg can also be checked in. These items require packaging in a transport suitable casing.
