Checked baggage allowance
The number of bags and the required charges may vary depending on your Aegean Airlines flight, however, the dimensions of all checked baggage must not exceed a total of 158cm.
Passengers flying Economy-Flex class have a baggage weight allowance of 23kg (1 bag), while passengers flying Business Class or those with Premium Membership may carry up to 32kg.
The number of bags you are entitled to check on board the aircraft depends on your ticket type. Economy-GoLight passengers are not entitled to any check-in baggage, while Economy-Flex and Premium Membership fliers may check in 1 bag and Business Class fliers 2.
Infants aged up to 2 years may carry 1 piece of hand baggage with necessary baby equipment for the journey, 1 piece of baggage weighing up to 23 kilos and 1 fold-up/collapsible stroller.
Flying with Aegean Airlines
Aegean Airlines was founded in 1999 and is the largest domestic and international airline in Greece going by total number of passengers carried, number of destinations served and by fleet size. A Star Alliance member since June 2010 and a winner of multiple aviation awards, Aegean Airlines operates a large number of scheduled and charter services to major domestic destinations as well as a number of other popular European destinations. In 2015 Aegean Airlines offered a grand total of 81 scheduled flights to domestic and European destinations plus two additional services to Saudi Arabia. The main headquarters of Aegean Airlines are at the major airports in Athens, Thessaloniki and Cyprus. The airline mainly operates using Airbus A320 aircrafts and has a total of 44 aircrafts in its fleet.
Online check-in
Online check-in is available for all Aegean Airlines flights and is available between 48 hours and 30 minutes prior to the flight’s departure time.
Boarding passes may be printed or downloaded onto passengers’ smart phones to be presented at the airport. Alternatively you may collect your boarding pass from an airport kiosk or check-in counter.
Passengers checking in online are able to select a seat otherwise they will be allocated automatically.
Online check-in is available for all flights except for those departing from Tirana, Izmir, Amman, Dubrovnik, Deauville, Pisa and Rostov-on-Don.
No extra fees are charged for checking in at the airport or at a terminal kiosk.
Cabin luggage allowance
All economy and premium membership passengers are each allowed 1 cabin bag of the following dimensions: 56 cm x 45 cm x 25 cm. Business class fliers can bring 2 cabin bags on board, but they must be no larger than 56 cm x 45 cm x 25 cm.
Cabin bags may not weigh any more than 8kg. Business class fliers are entitled to carry 2 bags, 1 weighing no more than 8kg and 1 weighing no more than 5kg.
All economy (GoLight and Flex) and Premium Membership passengers are each allowed 1 cabin bag, while business class passengers are entitled to 2 pieces of cabin luggage.
