Founded in 1945, TAP Portugal is the national flag carrier airline of Portugal. Operating close to 2,000 flights a week, TAP Portugal serves 88 destinations in 38 countries across Europe, Africa, North America and South America, with some domestic, European and African destinations being operated by the airline's subsidiary companies Portugália and PGA Express. TAP Portugal's fleet of 77 aircraft mainly consists of Airbus airlines, though some ATR, Embraer and Fokker aircraft are also used. TAP was named the “World’s Leading Airline to Africa” by the World Travel Awards in 2011 and 2012. In 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012 it was named the “World’s Leading Airline to South America”. TAP Portugal has been a member of Star Alliance since 2005 and has headquarters in the Portuguese capital of Lisbon.

Online check-in

Online check-in for TAP Portugal flights is available between 24 hours and 90 minutes before the flight’s scheduled departure time. The online check-in service is not available for TAP Portugal flights to the USA.
All passengers holding a valid TAP Portugal e-ticket can use the online check-in system.
When checking in online with a TAP Portugal operated flight, passengers are able to select their preferred seat on board the aircraft.
Airport check-in desks and in some destinations, check-in kiosks, are also available at each airport terminal operated by TAP Portugal. No extra fee is charged to passengers who wish to check in at the airport.

Cabin luggage allowance

All TAP Portugal passengers are entitled 1 item of cabin luggage sized no greater than 55cm x 40cm x 20cm (115cm in total). An additional item of personal luggage can also be brought on board as cabin luggage provided it is no larger than 40cm x 30cm x 10cm.
The maximum weight restriction on cabin luggage for passengers of TAP Portugal flights is 16kg, which includes the weight of the additional personal item.
Parents travelling with infants aged less than 2 years are entitled to bring 1 baby carrier on board the flight in addition to their standard cabin luggage allowance, as well as baby food for consumption on the flight.
Any item larger than the cabin luggage size and any item above the cabin luggage and personal item allowance will be checked to your final destination, and checked baggage service charges may apply.

Checked baggage allowance

Checked luggage for domestic and international flights operated by TAP Portugal must not exceed a total size of 158cm for all flights.
The standard checked baggage allowance weight for TAP flights is 23kg. This can be increased to 32kg for a fee. Passengers departing from Brazil are entitled to a standard baggage allowance weight of 32kg. TAP Portugal does not transport luggage or other pieces of luggage weighing more than 32kg. Volumes of baggage weighing more that 32kg must be dispatched as cargo. Check below for permitted luggage for your flight.
Passengers are entitled to 1 item of checked baggage each provided it meets the size and weight standards of their destination. The checked baggage allowance in regards to number of items, weight and size can be increased for a fee. This is determined by how much excess is required. The maximum number of bags allowed per passengers is 3 on ATR flights and 10 on Airbus flights.
Each passenger is entitled to 1 item of checked baggage. Additional items of checked baggage can be purchased before the flight departs. Any item of baggage that exceeds the size or weight restrictions will be subject to an excess fee.
Infants aged less than 2 years of age are not entitled to a checked baggage allowance.

The service provided from the crew was just excellent as they were very kind offering assistance during the whole flight. Regarding the companies policy I found hilarious that all the emergency seats were occupied by a group of 65 years old or over. I do understand people with oversize or quite tall need to use that seats but talking about safety for the rest of the passengers has no sense to offer this seat to people unable to help even theirshelves as in case something wrong happen they will not be able to seek assistance even to break the exit door.
