Founded in November 2011 and commencing operations in June 2012, Scoot is a Singapore based, low-cost medium and long haul airline. Scoot has headquarters at Singapore Changi Airport and offers flight routes to 17 destinations in Australia, China, Hong Kong, Japan, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan and Thailand. In 2015 it was announced that Scoot intends to increase its operational network, with Jeddah in Saudi Arabia and Guangzhou set to be added. Scoot's fleet of 11 aircraft is comprised entirely of Boeing 287 aircraft, with 3 additional aircrafts to be added in 2016. The airline’s slogan “Let’s Get Outta Here!” demonstrates Scoot’s passion to catering for young (or young at heart) and value seeking travellers. As of 2015, Scoot has an average load fact of 81% across all destinations served by the airline.
Online check-in
Online check-in is open from 48 hours to 3 hours before departure on all Scoot flights where this service is available.
Only Scoot flights departing from Singapore are eligible for online check-in.
All passengers are eligible to check in online using Scoot’s online check-in service, including those who have purchased their flight ticket from 3rd party travel agencies.
Passengers who require special assistance are unable to check in online. Scoot’s online check-in service also unavailable to all passengers departing from an airport outside of Singapore. All airports operated within the Scoot network offer airport check-in desks that are free of charge for all passengers.
Cabin luggage allowance
The dimensions of each item of cabin luggage carried onto a Scoot flight must not exceed the dimensions of 54cm x 38cm x 23cm (115cm in total).
The maximum weight for cabin luggage items is 7kg plus an additional 3kg for passengers travelling with laptops.
Passengers are entitled to 1 item of cabin luggage. This can be increased to 2 pieces during the booking process. Passengers must ensure their cabin luggage does not exceed the permitted allowance or else it will be considered checked baggage at the check-in counter or boarding gate, and be subject to applicable excess baggage fees.
Checked baggage allowance
The maximum permitted size of checked baggage for all flights operated by Scoot must not exceed 158cm. This includes wheels, handles and external pockets.
The standard checked baggage weight limit for all Scoot passengers is 20kg, though this can be increased to 30kg for a fee. No one individual piece of baggage will be permitted onto the aircraft if it exceeds 32kg in weight.
Passengers flying with Scoot are not entitled to any free checked baggage allowance, however checked baggage allowances can be purchased. There is no limit on how many items passengers may check into the hold, provided no one item exceeds 32kg in weight. Passengers who pre-purchase 20kg or 30kg allowance must not exceed these weight restrictions or else additional fees will be charged.
