Flying with Wizz Air

Wizz Air, also written wizzair, is a Hungarian low cost airline with headquarters at Budapest Liszt Ferenc International Airport. The company was founded in 2003 in London. The Hungarian airline operates low cost flights to 66 destinations in Europe and Asia. Similar to the budget carrier Ryanair, Wizz Air prefers to fly to smaller, secondary airports outside of larger cities.

Online check-in

Web check-in is available from 14 days to 3 hours before scheduled flight departure. If you want to check-in at the airport you will have to choose that option during booking and pay a fee of €10. If you do not pay this fee and arrive at the airport without your boarding pass you will be charged a higher fee of €20 to check-in.

Passengers who have checked-in online and are traveling with checked baggage, must present themselves at the baggage drop-off counter at least 40 minutes before scheduled flight departure. If you arrive at the bag drop-off counter and you do not have your printed boarding pass you will have to pay a €40 boarding pass re-issue fee.

All Wizz Air passengers must present valid travel documents at check-in. Passengers flying within the EU with non-EU travel documents must present themselves at the Wizz Air check-in desks to have their documents checked and stamped before flying. Non-EU passengers without the stamp will not be allowed to board.

Cabin luggage allowance

All passengers are allowed one small piece of cabin baggage to fit under the seat in front of them with maximum dimensions 42 x 32 x 25cm. For €10 passengers may bring a larger piece of cabin baggage to place in the overhead compartment with maximum dimensions of 56 x 45 x 25cm.

Checked baggage allowance

To check baggage with Wizz Air there is an extra fee. Passengers can check up to 6 bags with a maximum weight of 32kg each. Prices are significantly lower when you pay for checked luggage online instead of at the airport. Prices to check bags vary depending upon the flight time. Appalling policy of charging exorbitantly for check in when you have not checked in online. I tried to check in online numerous time many hours before the flight however the website was faulty and when I clicked ‘confirm’ that I was not carrying dangerous goods it simply returned to the same page over and over again. If online check in is not working there should be no charge for check in at the airport.

Всё было хорошо. Единственно что немного повлияло- это погодные условия и была небольшая задержка рейса.. В таких случаях компания могла бы в целях рекламы предлагать скидку 50% или бесплатно например напитки воду/чай/кофе в виде небольшой компенсации. Спасибо и всех благ вам .
