Located in the westernmost point of Europe, past the huge rocks and boulders and sitting next to Cabo da Roca, is Ursa beach, one of the beaches along the Lisbon Coast, noted for its wild character and the views of the Sintra - Cascais Natural Park. This beach has earned the title of the "mecca” of eco tourism in Portugal. It’s partly due to the fact that Praia do Meco is comprised of transparent and calm waters which attracts hundreds of families every summer. As it is protected by a clay cliff, Praia do Meco can also interpreted as a natural spa with many bars and restaurants surrounding it and offering pleasant views of the Atlantic. The beach is also famous for being the site of the music festival Super Bock Super Rock.

In the midst of Sintra – Cascais Natural Park, integrated within a rocky landscape that’s been sculpted by the waves, is the very small Adraga beach. With only 400 meters of sand, this beach exudes calm and tranquillity. During the hottest hours of the day, however, we recommend travellers take the opportunity to explore the caves and Adraga Fojo da Pedra de Alvidrar, authentic natural wonders. And a final fun fact about this beach: In 2003, this beach was part of The Sunday Times list of the 20 most beautiful beaches in Europe.
